Can't edit Sidebar - Solved

Post by troyberreth » July 20th, 2017, 1:51 am

Hi, I am unable to edit my sidebar, even though I was able to a few months ago. I am able to edit my footer widget area, however.

https://oregontrc.com/book/ is one of my pages that has the sidebar. It shows but I can't edit.

thanks in advance

Hello,

Please go to Admin Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets, here you can Drag any available widgets and drop in the sidebar.

Thanks.

Hi yes, I do understand that and that is what I did. I added a txt box and I was going to put in code, but there is no place to edit what goes in the txt field.

When I go to Appearance - Customize - Widgets, I can only customize the footer widget area. It says "Your theme has 1 other widget area, but this particular page doesn’t display it.

You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages."

I have the option to customize the footer area but nothing else.

Hello,
In Customize Sidebar option will not appear if you were on home page. For that you have to open single page or a specified page. After that it will display sidebar option then you can edit it.

Alternate option. You can edit sidebar from this location.
Please go to Admin Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets, here you can Drag any available widgets and drop in the sidebar.

Thank-you

I figured it out. I had to completely delete the widget and then I was able to re-add it and then edit it.

I have a similar problem in that I want to completely remove the sidebar widget. How do I do that? When I remove it from pages, the default sidebar with sample photos and text shows up. I want to completely eliminate the sidebar. I was able to do this on the free version with no issues but I'm unable to do so on the paid version.

Hello tugbressler,

just open your theme directory. Open sidebar.php file just see the the code below -

<div class="col-md-3 col-sm-3">

replace it with the below line -

<div class="col-md-3 col-sm-3 weblizar-sidebar">

and save the file.

Now just copy and paste the below code in custom CSS box -

.weblizar-sidebar {
display: none;
}

and save the changes.

This will solves your issue.

Thank-you
