[RESOLVED] CSV Import not working

Post by sensorgrafie » December 17th, 2016, 8:11 pm

Hello,

many thanks for the new feature unfortunately it is not working for me. I tried different formats of the CSV but non was working.

I tried these formats...

Firstname, Lastname, first.last@domain.my
Firstname; Lastname; first.last@domain.my
Firstname;Lastname;first.last@domain.my
Firstname,Lastname,first.last@domain.my
"Firstname;"Lastname";"first.last@domain.my"
'Firstname',Lastname','first.last@domain.my'

Sometimes nothing happened ans sometimes just one line was imported but entirely wrong.

Please make sure that only the delimiter will be taken as a separator, as with German for example there are special characters that might interfere and cause issue. Also a blank should not be taken into account as users might have several first names or last names separated with a blank or - etc.

Many thanks!

Hi Sensorgrafie,

There are confusion, so please Import CSV file table with two columns data ( First Name Last Name and Email ID ) and Other data will insert by default : Date (AutoGenerate) and status (As default Pending).

Format : Name (f_name l_name), email id
Note : Import process will break full name into first name and last name.

Thank you for letting me know, as the help file was telling first, last name, email address (which would make more sense in order to be able to send out newsletters with personal greetings!

I just ran a test and now the import worked well, but there is an issue with that format there are users having multiple first names and also users having multiple words in their last names like...

Hans Dieter van der Kamp

where Hans Dieter is the first name and van der Kamp the last name.

So importing by dividing all three with a comma would solve it!

Cheers & thanks!

Hi Joerg,

This is the first impression of the import process and we will add more options to make it simple and more useful in future.

Thanks again
