It is like having a thorough check of your vehicle before going on a long drive. Indeed, it does not guarantee protection against mishaps, but it increases the chances of performing better in search engine rankings. The focus of attention must be on everything concerning keywords, content, and links, which are the pillars of SEO. Which area of SEO you must concentrate on before taking the plunge will be clear as you keep reading this article.
Choose the keyword
SEO moves on keywords, which are the search terms that commonly surface during searches. You must know which are the key words commonly used by searchers in your business niche so that you can develop your SEO strategy around it. There are two steps in the process – first you must identify the keywords and then ascertain its power to drive traffic. Since the purpose of using keywords is to drive maximum traffic to websites, the ability to attract traffic is also an indication of how much search engines like it. Keep in mind that the purpose of SEO is to be lovable to search engines as well as the targeted audience. The better you can balance between the two, better is the SEO prospect. Using a Google Keyword Planner is an easy way to get a toehold in keyword research that follows.
Gauge the competition
After ascertaining what search terms you must target, you must know as much possible about the opponents. Unless you know about the competitive scene, you will never be able to work out the appropriate strategy that would help to encounter it. You must try to figure out how your competitors are doing and try to understand what keeps them ticking. Use the chosen keyword to obtain a search list and concentrate on the first ten results, excluding the paid advertisements, as this constitutes the core of competition that you would be facing. Analyze each website very carefully to figure out the reasons why it is doing well, and you will gain valuable insights that would help to build your campaign in a better way.
Create high-quality content
To make your website stand out from the crowd, you must create original content of high quality that is most relevant for the target audience. It is perhaps the most difficult part of SEO campaign but is also the most important. Compelling content not only draws great attraction, but it also enjoys a high rate of sharing. Quality content creates wider outreach and keeps visitors engaged for an extended period. Website authority gets a boost through extensive sharing of content, and this aspect would in turn favorably influence search rankings. The success of SEO is largely dependent on your ability to produce cracking content that the audience would lap up.
Keyword in header
Presenting content on the web page needs special skills because it helps Google to understand easily what the content or page is about. Organizing content is a critical aspect of SEO that can make a lot of difference in performance. For better consumption of content, its layout should comprise of the main heading with several sub headings for the sub parts of the content that are broken into small sections as it facilitates quick understanding. Placing exact keyword phrases in sub-headings is almost mandatory.
Page title must have keyword
If sub headings are important places for keywords, you can well imagine how important it is to put keywords in the page title. However, the only difference is that you may or may not use exact match keyword phrases in the page title. The most critical element is that the title must be enticing and not the run of the mill type. If the title is not attractive, it will escape the attention of viewers although keywords would be good for search engines.
Keyword in the post as well as URL
Since the URL is the most prominent place that Google looks at, putting the keyword in URL enables Google to figure out quickly about the blog post. It increases the chances of Google picking up the content during searches for the keyword. By placing the keyword in the post, you make it easier for Google to link it to the searches as now there is a keyword at the most relevant places where Google might look for it.
Point to the content internally
It may sound like beating your own drum, but you cannot help it. Provide proper link throughout the website so that no matter on which page the visitor is, there are high chances that they would automatically reach the content that you want them to see. If needed, you may have to edit some old posts to include links to new content.
Acquire backlinks by following a link building strategy
External links or backlinks remain as relevant as ever before. When you publish quality content that drives traffic and enjoys sharing, Google picks up the signal, interprets it as a sign of authority of your website and uses it favorably during ranking. Follow a link building strategy to establish a relationship with other sites that would willingly share links with you.
The above listing is only a part of good SEO, but by following it, you will get a head start that puts you quite a few steps ahead in the competition.
SEO is an integral part of promoting your website on the web and just not to lose traction on the SERP’s, you should follow all these points. To make sure you are following the right path, always keep an eye over your ranking every now and then.

The typeface is one of the most underrated features that designers often neglect when designing a website. A good designer knows the importance of typography and the impact that it has on the viewer. Studies have shown that the sort of typography you choose has the power to either enhance or decrease the user experience and viewer’s mood. If the visitor finds your content too hard to read or unappealing they is likely to abandon the site; which in turn will decrease your conversion rates. An ideal font choice can improve the user experience, and it also has the capability to reflect your business’s vision as well as goals. The aim should not only be to create a website with quality content but to create one with visually appealing, quality content.
How to choose the perfect font and mistakes that should be avoided:
Selecting a suitable typography choice includes selecting the correct font type, the right size of font, ideal color, line spacing and kerning. Although typography may seem irrelevant compared to other aspects of website designing, however, it plays a key role in increasing the conversion rates. There are certain considerations that should be kept in mind when deciding on a suitable typography.

If you are new to the concept of fonts you probably believe that fonts like Calibri, Arial etc. are designed for a specific context. You need to start thinking outside the box and move on to selecting the font based on your targeted audience and your brand identity. Every font has its own personality. Are your targeted audience Millennials or are you trying to approach a bit more mature generation category? Is your site being developed for a specific gender? Does the font go with the type of business you conduct? These are the sort of questions you need to ask yourself before committing to a font.
These fonts usually have a minimalistic and neat design. Their beauty lies in their simplicity. The characters are often either very thin or bold, such as Lombok.

You can always opt for a customized font, specifically created to truly capture the essence of your company. It will help you create your very own distinctive brand identity.
The objective of your website should be to get through to your customers via your content, but that might be hard to do if your content is not readable. If the content of your website is too hard to read, visitors are more likely to leave your page. This can contribute to higher bounce rates and decrease in conversion rates. Certain factors which affect the readability of content are listed below:
While creative fonts can add energy to your website, still it must be never overdone. You should not make the font so extravagant that it becomes near impossible to decipher. Sometimes less is more; so don’t over complicate matters by making the content too hard to read for your visitors. Never compromise on readability!
Using fonts of one too many designs will create a clutter, and give off an untidy look. Try to avoid this mistake as it can create confusion for the visitor and contribute to an overall negative impression. Stick to one or a few fonts when creating a website.
Something potentially as insignificant as font size can still have a huge part in accurately representing your brand’s vision and identity to the site visitors. The font size to be implemented should neither be too small, so as to avoid putting a strain on your viewer’s eyes nor too big that it takes up the majority of your page area. You are more likely to have a better platform for interaction with your visitors if the font size is readable. Moreover, they will be better equipped to understand your message. In this day and age, people access the internet through a variety of devices (smartphones, laptops, tablets etc.). So, you need to pick a font size that is compatible across different interfaces.
Factors such as line spacing and kerning help the viewer perceive the approximate length of the content. If the content appears too long or it is too much of a hassle to read, the visitor is most likely to leave the page. Furthermore, if the space between characters or the lines is either too wide or not enough, the user might face difficulty in reading the article. Kerning and line spacing need to be equal to every line/character; otherwise, your website might have an unprofessional feel to it.

When choosing the color scheme, you need to bring into consideration to the targeted audience and their preferences. Think about the targeted age group, gender as well as niche; then select your color scheme accordingly. Studies have shown that females usually prefer light sober colors while males are drawn towards brighter and darker colors. Depending on these (and other similar) factors, pick a suitable color for your font. You need to pick a dominant color for your brand logo and some other colors for the website that compliment your dominant color.
Adding color can truly brighten up your website, but you must never add too many colors so that it becomes an indistinguishable mess of bright hues. The colors should be harmony with each other rather than creating a clutter. This is where white space steps can again prove advantageous. White spacing is a crucial aspect that often not given its due share of importance. If done correctly, it can increase the overall readability and adds finesse to your website.
Focusing on tiny details such as font, its size and color may seem like a waste of time as well as resources, but it is sure to pay up by increasing your conversion rates. Every typeface has its very own personality and every color tells a different story. Together they have the ability to impact the viewer’s mood and emotion. Hence, it is a way of converting a random visitor into a potential client with minimalistic effort.

After getting a massive response from Android users, Google finally launches Android O (Oreo). The pace with which Google is keeping up and updating Android platform is commendable and people are getting huge benefits out of it.
Android Oreo has long been in the public domain, which means we’ve got a great idea of what features will be introduced once it starts rolling out to our smartphones.
Here are some of the key features you should look forward to from Android Oreo, as confirmed by the experts at Google:
Battery life is always a big concern, which is why Google often makes improvements with new iterations of Android.
The latest version of Android Oreo is no different, with Google increasing the automatic limits on what apps can do in the background in a number of key areas (broadcasts, background services, and location updates, for instance).
“These changes will make it easier to create apps that have minimal impact on a user’s device and battery. Background limits represent a significant change in Android, so we want every developer to get familiar with them,” reads a Google blog post.
Google is also expected to introduce new picture-in-picture functionality, which is probably one of the most useful changes incoming.
This feature would allow users to continue watching videos on a small virtual screen while getting stuff done within other apps. Google also says that apps will be able to put themselves in picture-in-picture mode.
The idea is that you can watch a YouTube video while sending emails in the Gmail app – who says work can’t be fun, eh?
Google also plans to group notifications into channels, giving users greater control over their app notification categories.
Explaining the move, Google writes: “Users can block or change the behaviour of each channel individually, rather than managing all of the apps’ notifications together.”
Google is also making it possible to snooze individual notifications, which is seriously useful given the persistence of some Android system notifications. You’ll be able to snooze notifications for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or one whole hour.
Another new feature will be notification dots, which are visual indicators on app icons that’ll show if you have any waiting notifications. This is a feature that iPhone users will be familiar with, as it’s been part of Apple’s iOS software for years.
Google is also hoping to save you some time, courtesy of Autofill APIs. This will allow your favourite password manager apps to work with the Android operating system, so you can access them just like you would a third-party keyboard.
Google explains: “Android users already depend on a range of password managers to auto-fill login details and repetitive information, which makes setting up new apps or placing transactions easier. Now we’re making this work more easily available across the ecosystem by adding platform support for autofill.”
Another expected feature is the addition of adaptive icons. This means developers will be able to use different-shaped app icons, depending on the manufacturer’s preference.
App icons will also support badge notifications, as previously mentioned.
Another big change is the improvement of keyboard navigation. According to Google, more users are navigating to apps using a physical keyboard thanks to the arrival of the Play Store on the Google Chrome OS.
“In Android O, we are focused on building a more reliable, predictable model for ‘arrow’ and ‘tab’ navigation that aids both developers and end users,” says Google.
Smartphone displays are constantly improving, and OLED panels are more abundant than ever – but software support needs to be available too.
Fortunately, Google promises that the makers of imaging apps will now be able to make better use of high-end displays, especially with handsets that feature panels capable of supporting a wide colour gamut.
“To display wide gamut images, apps will need to enable a flag in their manifest (per activity) and load bitmaps with an embedded wide colour profile (Adobe RGB, Pro Photo RGB, DCI-P3, and so on,” Google advises developers.

Google is also set to add Sony’s LDAC codec, which has been donated to Android by the Japanese tech giant. This should improve upon the Bluetooth A2DP protocol currently used today.
The company is also introducing AAudio, which should result in improved low-latency audio. The firm says that it’s a “New native API that’s designed specifically for apps that require high-performance, low-latency audio”.
Google is spending some time reworking the camera app, offering a new double-tap feature that lets you quickly get to 50% zoom.
There’s also a new dedicated button that lets you switch between photo and video modes; previously, users were forced to swipe, which some may have found unintuitive.
These are some amazing features of Google Oreo that can make your smartphone stand aside. Hope you have enjoyed reading all the improvements and features Google O has. Please keep come back for more interesting and entertaining blogs.
The online landscape of search engine optimization and digital marketing is a minefield. You may not find any official textbook or technology courses to develop a foolproof strategy or tactics. It is up to the website owners and the marketers to figure out what combination works the best for their unique business and industry. There are literally some deadly trangressions to avoid in seo and online marketing.
There are a few mistakes that even the experienced SEO professionals tend to make, and these errors often prove to be terrible mishaps in online promotions. Here, we will discuss a few such errors you need to steer clear of.
Before the algorithm update of Panda, it was common to see a lot of small and one-page sites dominating the SERPs based on the inbound link profile strength of pages. The site administrators were managing to create many links pointing to these one-page sites from external websites rather than focusing on the quality of on-site content.
However, one of the fundamental changes after Panda update was the rising of websites which have a lot of quality and relevant content. Now, it is almost impossible to get ranked just for the competitive keywords or inbound links if there is no great content. Google differentiates between low-quality and high-quality content through:
So, while planning your on-site content strategy, the ideal approach is to create quality content and ads of lasting value. Some inputs on this are:
A Proper on-site content strategy will surely help win over the competitors.
It is essential to have an ideal offsite content strategy to keep up the value of on-site content. Below are a few reasons why it is crucial for online marketing success:
However, when building links to your web page, be cautious about hiring an external consultant to do it. Link building, after Penguin update of Google, requires expert knowledge of the function of search engine algorithms and how the crawlers work. In fact, building links which are manipulated and unnatural may only create harm instead of doing something good.
SEO is not like stock trading. Your return on investment takes its course of time, and with persistence and effort, it can undoubtedly yield desirable results. Before starting the SEO initiatives, it may be worthwhile to do some baseline research to identify how the strategies work and what you can expect out of it from time to time.
On the other hand, if someone is claiming overnight success through SEO, do not trust them. Something that sounds too good to be true is almost always a scam. It is a highly competitive arena, and no one can ensure 100% results within a given period.
Business owners often get lured in by the low-price SEO services, promising the world and sky, but ultimately delivering a bunch of useless services. Most of these low-budget SEO providers are stuck in the pre-Penguin era with some low-quality spam tactics which may show some instant hype but ultimately will spoil your online reputation.
The ideal tactics that you need to check out with any SEO providers are:
Digital marketing is vast and complex, and it requires experienced professional digital marketing company to do it right. To get it done rightly, you must distribute and delegate the tasks well among many professionals who have expertise in their particular niche. For example, you can hire content writers and editors for creating engaging content, whereas you may require professional web and graphic designers to take care of the aesthetics and user-friendliness of your visual content. This way, you can ultimately reach to the top stand on search engine results pages.
What is the dream of every rising entrepreneur? To be a billionaire! Duh! And to be on the #1 rank of every relevant Google search result. However, we do not see as many new brands on the 1st page of Google SERP as we should, and the big fish like Amazon, Etsy, and Ali Express dominate the first page of every e-commerce related query. This is not just unsettling; it is quite demoralizing for the budding businesses. And to break the chains we should learn about some secrets of business seo.
Why are you not on the 1st page of every Google search result?
This is a rather difficult question. If there are a hundred companies who are competing in the same niche, they have at least a hundred reasons for not emerging on the top.
The company can claim to have ties with Google and Matt Cutts himself, but no company can guarantee you the #1 rank in a month. It is simply fantastic.
SEO is an ongoing procedure rather than a quick fix. Money may be a factor in building a working SEO plan, but it is not the ONLY factor. Your website needs tailor-made solutions that other companies may not need. Your SEO Agency should be able to understand your business needs.
No company that is dishing out universal packages for $99 a month can help you hold the #1 position.
Latent Semantic Indexing is the secret weapon of keyword optimization. Your company website may be using the long tailed keywords suggested by WordStream, Google Keyword planner, and your SEO team. You are missing out on actionable keywords that Google wants to see in your content.
LSI is quite simple. Suppose you are trying to rank for “automobile services in NY.” Type in these exact keywords and crawl to the bottom of the SERP. You will find a bunch of related keywords, synonyms and alternate keywords that Google is suggesting. These are your LSI keywords. Use them to get an extra boost in ranking.
Your website needs images, and you know that already. In a world ruled by GIFs and Memes, running a black and white website is like living in a cave in the 21st century.
Now, the catch in the situation is – Google cannot “see” your images or videos. You need to describe them for the bots so they can understand what all the hullabaloo is about. Include a file name, alt description using your target keyword and add a caption.
Do not use humongous images. This will slow your site, and by now, everyone knows, slow site equals bad SEO. Consider JPEGmini and PunyPNG to compress your images. This won’t cause you to lose much quality, and it will accelerate your page loading time.
Every online company should run an SEO and link audit at least once a year. This will help you find out about the status of your existing links. In reality, the quality and the quantity of links pointing directly at your website determine your organic ranking.
Some sites have some broken links, unresolved 404s, and bad quality links. Sudden changes in link status can cause your site to drop to the bottom of any SRL. If you are already suffering from poor traffic and terrible organic performance, look for spammy links infiltrating your site. Next, look for outbound links that may lead to “dubious” websites.
This is somewhat like “guilty by association.” Your site may be credible, but linking your content to spammy sites, you are risking your reputation. Google will automatically direct visitors away from your site, towards more credible looking competitors.
PPC is as different from SEO as New Zealand is from Australia. Most entrepreneurs tend to get confused by the two terms. PPC is Pay per Click marketing. When you look for products and services on Google, a few links pop on in the first three places. They have this tiny yellow badge on the left, which reads “Ad.” These are your PPC marketing products.
Now, you cannot really “see” SEO. You can feel its benefits once your traffic starts increasing, sales start climbing, and your returns are higher. Our stats say, over 75% of the Google users ignore the sponsored ad results that come with the “Ad” badge. The #1 rank garners over 33% of the total search traffic. That speaks oodles about the future of business, which has learned the secret to the #1 rank in Google SERP.
SEO is not easy, but it is not complicated either. There are a few points you must remember while choosing your SEO partner for the long run. The experience of your partnering company will determine the future of your online business.
SEO has always been a mystery for many of us but to hit at the righ spot at the right time and doing your ground research well is the key to break the barriers of SEO and be on the top.
