The tricky part can be getting people to visit your website.<\/p>\n<h3>Google Shopping Ads<\/h3>\n<p>For an e-commerce business, Google Shopping Ads are arguably the best way to get relevant visitors to your website straight away. <\/p>\n<p>Whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/weblizar.com\/blog\/why-your-small-business-needs-seo\/\">search engine optimization<\/a> (SEO) can work well, and blogging can build your brand over time, if you need immediate results, then Google Shopping Ads allow you to get your products in front of those actively searching and looking to buy them.<\/p>\n<p>Typically the ads will show images, names, prices and reviews of your products at the top of search results pages \u2013 when someone searches for a relevant product.<\/p>\n<h3>Create a Google Merchant Account<\/h3>\n<p>First, you will need to create a Google Merchant account. Simply head over to the website and click \u201cGet Started\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fill in the details including the business location, timezone and then when you have read them \u2013 agree to the terms &amp; conditions if you are happy to do so. Next click \u201cContinue\u201d. When prompted to choose a \u2018program\u2019 \u2013 for this guide we\u2019ll select \u201cSurface Across Google\u201d and \u201cShopping Ads\u201d and then create your account.<\/p>\n<h3>Setup Shopping Ads Across Google<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To get started with this program, which passively shows your ads across Google for free, click on the \u201cContinue\u201d button to the right of where it says \u201cSet up surfaces across Google\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next click where it says \u201cprovide website URL\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Now you will need to verify ownership by adding a line of HTML to your WordPress website.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the code given to you in Merchant Center,<\/li>\n<li>log in to the WP-admin section of website,<\/li>\n<li>go to Appearance&gt;Theme Editor<\/li>\n<li>click on \u201cTheme Header\u201d<\/li>\n<li>paste the HTML code<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cUpdate File\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Go back to Google Merchant Center<\/li>\n<li>click to verify URL &amp; Claim Website<\/li>\n<li>Go back to \u201cGoogle Surfaces<\/li>\n<li>click to \u201cSet up Shipping\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Give your shipping a name,<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0choose your currency and service area.<\/li>\n<li>Now you just need to fill in the delivery time details.<\/li>\n<li>Add in the cost of shipping in the Shipping Rates section.<\/li>\n<li>click \u201cSave\u201d:<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cBack to Surfaces across Google\u201d at the top left of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Next, click on \u201cSet up Tax\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Select the bottom option<\/li>\n<li>Again \u2013 click \u201cBack to Surfaces across Google\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Add Products Via a Website Crawl<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Click \u201cAdd Product Data\u201d and then \u201cCREATE PRODUCT FEED\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Next, choose your language and country of residence, tick the boxes next to Shopping Ads and Surfaces Across Google and click \u201cCONTINUE\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, choose the \u201cWebsite Crawl\u201d option:<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cCONTINUE\u201d and then \u201cCREATE FEED\u201d.Within a few hours.<\/li>\n<li>Select your Language, then click \u201cCONTINUE\u201d, give your feed a name and select \u201cGoogle Sheets\u201d radio button.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cCONTINUE\u201d again. Select \u201cGenerate a new Google Spreadsheet from a template\u201d and then click \u201cCREATE FEED\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Back in Merchant Center \u2013 click on the feed name to open the Google Sheet.\\<\/li>\n<li>Now the tedious part \u2013 you need to fill in the headings for each product.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201ccondition\u201d heading relates to whether a product is new or used.<\/li>\n<li>Feeds can take a long time to fill in manually \u2013 many people choose to pay someone on Fiver to fill the feeds in for them. Finally, if you have issues with the feed, you can add your product directly in Merchant Center by clicking on \u201cProducts\u201d in the left-hand-side-menu and then \u201cAll Products\u201d and clicking the blue &amp; white \u201c+\u201d symbol.<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s everything is set up \u2013<\/li>\n<li>click back to \u201cOverview\u201d in the side menu and then click into Google Surfaces<\/li>\n<li>make sure to add your terms and conditions page URL and then click \u201cActivate\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Back in \u201coverview\u201d \u2013 click \u201cCONTINUE\u201d next to \u201cSet up Shopping Ads\u201d:<\/li>\n<li>This should be straight forward, as you would have already uploaded your products to Google Merchant Center,<\/li>\n<li>so it should be a case of agreeing to the Terms &amp; Conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Create an Ad in Google Ads<\/h3>\n<p>Here we will run through an example of how to set up a campaign. Please note that this not be the optimal or most profitable setup for your particular products.<br \/>\nCreate an account and choose \u201cswitch to Expert Mode\u201d shown in small text near the bottom of the screen. <\/p>\n<p>Confirm your business details \u2013 now go back to Merchant Center, and under Set up Shopping Ads click to Link your Google Ads account. Now refresh the Google Ads page. Click \u201ccampaigns\u201d in the side menu and click the big blue &amp; white \u201c+\u201d symbol and then choose \u201cNew Campaign\u201d, then \u201cCreate a Campaign Without Google\u2019s Guidance\u201d \u2013 then select \u201cShopping\u201d:<\/p>\n<h3>Manual CPC\u201d and set a daily budget<\/h3>\n<p>Click \u201cContinue\u201d, give your campaign and name and then choose \u201cManual CPC\u201d and set a daily budget, choose \u201cLow Priority\u201d and untick Search Network and Youtube, Gmail and Discover, select locations and an end date to your campaign and then \u201cSave and Continue\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Create a \u201cProduct Shopping\u201d ad to begin with and give the new ad group a name. Whatever bid you put, start low, you can always increase your bids over time.
