Embedded YouTube Size on Mobile and Posts using "Page Full Width" templates

Post by riskadvisorptyltd » May 6th, 2016, 7:37 am

Hi there,

Thanks again for your consistent great support. Two pieces of help this time please.

www.riskadvisor.com.au

The video on the home page (using home-extra.php for the video) looks great on a PC but when viewed on a mobile the sizing is completely off. I tried using "height: auto; max-width: 100%;" as I'd seen it on the forums and that worked on the mobile but then made the video on the PC appear as long and skinny and look wrong. Any help with that would be great.

Second question is is there any way to using the Page Full Width template for Posts rather than having my News section look like a blog?

Thanks again in advance

Hi,

1) Please go to Admin Dashboard >>Appearance >>Theme Options >>General Settings and find Custom CSS editor.

Now copy below CSS in Custom CSS editor.

Code: Select all

.feature_section1 iframe {
    max-width: 100% !important;
    height: auto !important;
}
Save the changes.

2) Please use Blog related Template for this.

Let us know for further assistance.

Thanks.

Just updated part 1 and it works on the iPhone but if you check on the actual site you'll see it seems to screw up the video size

www.riskadvisor.com.au

Can you please instruct how to change the template for the blog?

Thank you again in advance

Hi,

Please use below CSS instead.

@media (max-width:480px){
.feature_section1 iframe {
max-width: 100% !important;
height: auto !important;
}
}
Save the changes.

Thanks.

That's awesome, fixed the video size completely thank you!

Any idea about changing the template across for the posts?

Currently this page ( http://www.riskadvisor.com.au/quickrisk-mode-launched/ ) is set out like a blog post with details of when it was posted on the left and menu items on the right. This is the same for all posts that on the website

I'd like all my posts to look like this page ( http://www.riskadvisor.com.au/what-we-do/content/ ) so that it is blank and all that is on the page is the news item.

Also, unrelated, is there a way to put a video on the home page without it being hosted by a site such as YouTube or Vimeo? Basically just upload the video and have it play from the page?

Thanks again for your help

Hi..

Please make child theme and create single.php file.

Now copy code from link http://pastebin.com/2UZjXKzP and paste into child theme's single.php file.

For adding video you can upload video and make sure that the video in mp4 format.

Thanks.
