fixed header messing with FAQ page

Post by therevev » July 27th, 2016, 8:07 am

I have a FAQ page on a website that I manage. My problem is when a person clicks on the question the link should take them to the answer lower on the page. Instead what happens is that the floating header hides the answer and so it appears to the user that they are further down on the page then they desire.

I have identified the answers with the id attribute. The questions at the top of the page <a href ... to the id. My problem is that the floating header hides the location of the id.

Do you have any suggestions to make the navigation on the FAQ page more accurate?

Hi,

Please make child theme directory.

Now copy below lines of code and paste into child theme's functions.php file after "your code below".

Code: Select all

function fix_header(){
	$wl_skin_options = incredible_skin_options();
	$hp= $wl_skin_options['header_position'];
	if($hp=='fixed'){?>
	<script>
	   jQuery(window).scroll(function(){
    if (jQuery(window).scrollTop() >= 110) {
	  jQuery('body').css('padding-top','220px');
    }
    else {
	    jQuery('body').css('padding-top','0');
    }
})
	</script>
<?php } }
add_action('wp_footer', 'fix_header'); ?>
Save the changes.

Thanks.
