Customer service is an important aspect of your business. There are tons of ways you can make sure you treat your customers well, but not all of your customers are equal. Some customers are more dedicated to your business than others, and they deserve special attention that goes above and beyond the regular customer service strategies you use with all of your customers.
There are many different ways you can connect with your best customers, but chances are, you spend most of your time connecting with them online. You might communicate through social media or email, but you can take things to the next level by creating a members-only site.
With a members-only website, you can release special content that only members can access, you can provide them with access to areas of the website that others can’t see unless they have login information, and you can release online classes and courses that aren’t available to the masses.
Creating a members-only site isn’t quite as difficult as it sounds either. Using a simple WordPress membership plugin, you can transform your site and keep track of membership statistics, accept secure payments, and you can even offer different membership levels.
A customer loyalty program is always a great way to thank your best customers while encouraging them to continue spending money with your business at the same time. A points program can be an easy way to reward your most loyal customers.
Once enrolled, every purchase can accrue points that can be redeemed, which often means a discount on their next purchase. It might also include creating an account or signing up for a card. If a credit card is a bit too big of a leap for your business to support, a membership card can simply be used to track points or to access special discounts.
If you have great customers who deserve a little special treatment, you should reach out to them and interact with them on a personal level. There are a number of ways you can do that. Sending out an email is a quick way to make personal contact with your best customers.
It’s also a great way to send them a special discount or a coupon that can be used to purchase a product or service with your business. Phone calls are great too, as is reaching out on social media.
However, few things are better than a handwritten letter. That doesn’t mean you have to sit down and write page after page! It just means you might send a quick note in the mail to celebrate:
Nothing will make your best customers feel more special than trying out new products or services first! Whether it’s sending a few items from your new line of clothing, letting them test out a new version of your latest software, or giving them special access to a new online course, your customers would be glad to get ahold of something no one else has yet. You can provide them with new products and services for free, but you can also provide them at a discount.
You can even offer them at full price with the stipulation that no one else can buy it yet. Just make sure you offer a way for them to return or exchange the item so they don’t feel like they’re taking a risk by purchasing something that hasn’t technically been released.
Your best customers shop and work with you on a regular basis. Giving them a quick thank you every time they buy something from you is as easy as giving them a little something extra every time they spend money with your business. At a brick and mortar store, that might mean free samples, nearly discounted items, or promotional items.
Online, it might mean temporary access to free digital content or a coupon for making their next purchase a little cheaper. You can always make more money by finding new customers, but it’s your best repeat customers that really keep your business afloat. Show them how much their business means to you by treating them a little more special than you treat other customers with the tips on this list.
